Couples Counselling in Whitstable & Online

Relationships can be difficult, even when you care deeply about each other.

You may find yourselves having the same arguments, struggling to communicate, feeling disconnected, or trying to rebuild trust after something has happened.

Couples counselling gives you both a space to slow things down, understand what is happening between you and begin talking in a different way.

I offer couples counselling face-to-face in Whitstable and online, providing a supportive space where both partners have the opportunity to be heard.

How Couples Counselling Can Help

You don't have to wait until your relationship is at breaking point before coming to counselling.

Couples come to counselling for many different reasons, including:

  • Communication breaking down

  • Having the same arguments again and again

  • Feeling distant or disconnected

  • Trust being damaged

  • An affair or betrayal

  • Jealousy or insecurity

  • Difficulties with intimacy

  • Major life changes putting pressure on the relationship

  • Feeling unheard or misunderstood

  • Wondering whether the relationship can move forward

Sometimes couples know exactly what has gone wrong. Other times, they simply know that something between them doesn't feel the way it used to.

I Won't Take Sides

Couples counselling isn't about deciding who is right and who is wrong.

My role is to support both of you and help you understand what is happening within the relationship.

We'll look at how you communicate, the patterns you may have fallen into and what happens when things become difficult between you.

Both of you will have the opportunity to talk and to feel heard.

The aim isn't to blame either partner. It's to understand what is happening between you and explore what may need to change.

What Happens in a Couples Counselling Session?

Your first session gives us time to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what each of you would like to be different.

You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what to say, and you don't need to agree about what the problem is.

We'll begin by understanding both of your perspectives and gradually explore the patterns, feelings and experiences affecting your relationship.

Counselling isn't about forcing you to stay together or encouraging you to separate. It's about helping you understand your relationship more clearly so that you can make decisions that are right for you.
